Channeling Your Inner Badass (+ Kicking Limiting Beliefs to the Curb)
Apr 21, 2021Oh, hey friends! Time for a real life reality check + a little tough love. 👊🏼♥️
How many of you hold yourself back because you don’t think you’re capable of something? Or you haven’t tried something new because “it’s not the way you’ve always done it”? Or how many of you haven’t taken risks in life because you’re afraid you’ll fail?
Ya’ll need to let go of those limiting beliefs + let yourself LIVE! Time to channel your inner badass and let go of that self-doubt! Life is too dang short to hold yourself back.
I grew up in a family that didn’t have a lot of money. We lived in a trailer park. We pinched pennies. And lord only knows how much credit card debt was racked up just to get by. I grew up in a family that valued love + hardwork and had hostility (read: envy) towards money.
I saw my single mom go back to school so that she could provide for us. She worked full time and then went to class. Her dedication was real, and it was admirable.
Even still, I grew up with hardcore poverty mindset. I grew up thinking that to have money meant struggle and stress and debt. I grew up thinking that at 18 it was no big deal that I would max out 2 credit cards in Myrtle Beach on Spring Break. I grew up not having a care in the world with how many hours I had to work to get money, just so I could spend it. I very subconsciously, but eagerly, traded hours of my life for wasted dollars.
To this day, my relationship with money is something I am working on—I mean, online shopping isn’t helping 😂—but you have to OWN IT!
No one is more invested in your future than YOU.
You have to be focused on the goals YOU want to achieve and the personal growth YOU want to make.
You have to be mindful and willing to learn to push past the excuses. no matter what your limiting beliefs are.
It’s time to channel your inner badass—the real you. The you without fear or self-doubt or worrying what the hell other people think of you. The person you are without all the bullshit. Who you are without giving an eff about who people think you should be.
1. Throw on your favorite playlist (Eminem or 90’s hits would be my personal choice 💁🏻♀️)
2 Get out a pen and paper.
3. Think of your best self. Who do you want to be in the future? What kind of clothes do you wear? What job do you have? What does your morning routine look like? What do your relationships look like? What do you do for fun?
4. Write down everything that comes to mind when you think of the best version of YOU. Just completely brain dump all your thoughts. Don’t second guess yourself.
5. REFLECT. What are things you can do that will help you create that best version of you? AND What are things you’re doing now that you can let go of or stop doing that will help you create your best self?
Everyone has an inner badass. We just sometimes let the opinions of others and our self-doubt fog up our view of it. Let go of that ish. ✌🏼
